Listening to "My Name Is Jonas"

January 16, 2008

I realized that once you've played a song on Guitar Hero, you never really hear it the same way as before.

I haven't decided yet if this change is better or worse. Just very, very different. The chords reverberate inside of me. And I kind of feel like hopping up on my desk and playing a little air guitar for my coworkers. While headbanging. And racking up crazy Star Power points.

What am I doing this holiday weekend? Playing lots and lots of Guitar Hero.

Find It In:

I'm so freaking jealous! I am going to by myself guitar hero as soon as I can freakin' afford it.

ie: never.

I have never played Guitar Hero because I will fail miserably and everyone will laugh at me. I'm not very coordinated!

I know exactly what you mean. Being in a band ruins tons of music for me. I used to really like to sing hymns when I was in church and listen to them. Now I just think to myself, "Hey, I'm an electric guitar player, where do I play in 'Softly and Tenderly'?"

But I LOVE "Jonas". Awesome song.

We had the original PS2 one (because we're old and boring) back home, and I refused to play it at first - my reasoning was that I was crap at playing a normal guitar, why would this be any different?

And then I picked it up, worked out my coordination and have been a rock goddess ever since.

Or so I keep telling myself..

I played Rock Band over Christmas break with my little brother. I am a big fan of Guitar Hero, and was very excited about Rock Band. I was not, however, expecting to love (LOVE) playing the Rock Band drums as much as I did.
So fun!
And I looked so cool! Because how could a pregnant drummer not be cool?

I'm so tempted to buy the 80 dollar PC/Mac version. And my version of Paint it Black now is very different from the real song.

I *never* would've pegged you as a guitar hero fan. I've never played it myself, I guess I'm not cool enough. ;-)

Yes! We play guitar hero A LOT, and it totally changes your take on the song. Instead of bells at school, we play music (the idea is musical chairs), and one week all the songs were from guitar hero. It was funny to see all these random people bond over air guitar, teachers and students alike.
