Don't ask me about New Hampshire. I don't want to talk about it.
Okay, maybe I do. Let's just say that my mom and I disagree on almost every single issue politically, but whatever direction we each feel the country should move in, we're both pretty sure that Hillary isn't going to take us there. Also? Super puppety. And most important? Will not be able to win the general election.
I haven't really talked about politics on my blog in a while. Maybe because I take enough shit on here for my religious views, and I kind of feel as though I'd like to keep my political views from that kind of scrutiny. I know a little, but I don't know everything, pretty far from it, actually, and I try to keep that sort of thing under wraps whenever possible. It's the same reason I hardly ever spoke up in my literature classes in college. And in doing so found out that sometimes we learn much more when we keep our mouths shut.
Also, I change my mind a lot.
Obama's great. I love the guy. I think he's wonderful, and I think he could do great things as Commander in Chief. But. I like Edwards more. I have since the first Democratic debate several months ago, when Obama delivered canned answers, and Edwards took a much more thoughtful, genuine approach. And, most shocking of all, he actually answered the questions. Unbelievable, right? I know. I thought so too.
It's still extremely early to tell, but it's not looking good for Edwards. And I was okay with it looking good for Obama. Kind of happy about it, really. What I am not okay with is it looking good for Hillary.
Before she announced her candidacy, Hillary said that she wants what's best for the Democratic party. Either that statement was an outright lie, or she simply can't see that she's not it.
Or, I am incredibly wrong, which is always a possibility.

Interesting ... I want what's best for the United States. Who gives a flip about the Democratic party.
Republicans are no better. All crooks and liars.

You didn't mention what exactly you have against Hillary. Do you disagree with her positions on the issues?
I was on the Obama bandwagon for a while as well, but grew tired of his vague descriptions of what he would actually do as President. I'm glad he is for hope and change and all that, but what is he actually going to "do". At least Hillary doesn't beat around the bush.

Yep. I relate to this post. I really do like Edwards the best out of the Democratic party (which, if I was American, would be the party I would be voting for. I've found that I agree with very little of what's shaking on the Republican side of things). He seems the most sincere to me. Also, I feel like he's the healthy medium between Barack and Hillary- though I would be happy with an Obama win. Hillary lost me when her campaigning went negative and when she said during the NH debate "making change isn't about what you believe". I disagree 100%. Actually 110%.
I think the Democratic candidates have very little wiggle room between them on the issues that (for me) it's more a matter of personality, leadership qualities, morals and ethics rather than issues like abortion where they all have similar ideas. And on that platform- Hillary just doesn't do it for me.

Okay, First, I get soo excited when I talk about politics. Like, be careful, I'm fixing to shove my political views down your throat kind of excited.
And for that, I apologize.
But, I COMPLETELY agree with you. I was such a fan of Edwards, but I honestly think he's done. Stick a fork in him done. I know, it hurts me too. But he basically put most of his campaigning into Iowa, hoping to win there and have a surge to win the rest of the states. I think that's why he got 2nd in Iowa, and since he didn't win and only placed 3rd in NH, it's sad to say it, but he's done.
I'm for Obama now. Mainly because I love his speeches, he wouldn't be a crazy, I wanna torture everyone Republican and he's not Hillary.
I just don't like her. There are a lot of stances that I can't stand (which I won't go into here) but mainly I don't like her because of the hatred that she incites from the opposition. She can't win. It's one thing to have only the Democrats and independents to win over, but she has so many people that hate here that she has an even smaller amount of people to get to vote for her.
There's just no way.
And after losing the past 2 presidential elections to an idiot, I'm not okay with us putting out anything but our best. Which, I personally think would be an Obama/Edwards ticket.
That's my 2 cents.

Just remember: New Hampshire is crazy and nothing like the rest of the country.
I'm probably going to buy an Edwards t-shirt this week, which is like, a HUGE step. But I believe in the man. Go Edwards!
