Now here's one for the googlers.

Dear person who came to my blog by googling "depression after graduation":
I wish I could say it gets better.
My advice is to go back to school and stay there for as long as possible. And then, ideally, become a teacher. I believe that having summers off is a very large, overlooked chunk of what makes people happy.
Today I turned in my vacation request for a short trip to Missouri next month. And then it looks like a long, long string of workdays until Chad and I go to Paris in September. And then a long string of workdays after that. And then I die.
Love,
S.
P.S. Reading Crime & Punishment on your lunch break will only make things worse.

Dear person who came to my blog by googling "Jesus never drank from a Styrofoam cup":
You are awesome. And so right.

Dear person who came to my blog by googling "weimaraner pass gass":
I feel for ya. I really do. I don't have any helpful tips except to say that I may have inadvertently become a mouth breather as a result of my smelly weimaraner and his smelly digestive tract. Don't let it happen to you. Stay upwind.
Love,
S.

Dear person who came to my blog by googling "girl who read Anna Karenina":
Yep. That's me. I finished a couple of weeks ago.
Feels like I'm the only one, but I know that probably isn't true. Or is it?
Love,
S.

There would have been something to see if you had posted a picture of that work shirt.
I like that people google you. It makes you kind of famous. :-D

And to the ones who go back to school and ideally become teachers to have their summers off... please remember that you will be doing 3x the work of normal people 9 months out of the year, for half the pay for the rest of your career.

Yes, the summers off are amazing. In fact, I'm enjoying the first week of it!

I read Anna Karenina awhile back and it is actually one of my favorite books. I really like Tolstoy. I know it's long, but did you enjoy it? I won't be offended if you say no.

Hi,
You don't know me, but I just found your blog through sarahthe (a friend of mine)... and well, I think you're hilarious. And I love this entry. Particularly the first part.
I am one of those who became a teacher. And I agree with Ann's comment above.
thanks,
random girl who found your blog. and reads it because she has nothing to do most days... because it's summer.
